Yesterday, the land went dry

Christmas is over, New Year's is past...and they were pretty darn good ones, I have to say. I travelled a lot for the holidays: Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York City, even Princeton (briefly). I loved spending time with my family and trying on wedding dresses with my best friend, but I have to admit that my favorite part was hanging out in NYC for two days with my brother and my aunt. She works for Bloomburg, and we got to take a tour of their (amazing) building. It felt so big, almost like a modern art museum. And it's exactly how I would picture a huge company in NYC. We also ate yummy thai food, bought out H&M (well, I did anyway), saw rockerfeller plaza, the NYPL, and ran around the East Village and SoHo. I love New York (corny, but true)! I don't think I could live there, but man is it fun to visit!

In other news, the wedding planning is going pretty darn well. I think I found my dress, which is a relief (I was having a crazy time trying to figure out what I wanted). We also booked the ceremony site and the reception site, and I'm really excited about both. Next on the list is working on our Save the Date's. I'm screenprinting the signs we'll be holding up (not becuase it matters or you'll even be able to tell in the photos, but because I needed something to start screenprinting). I'll let you know how it turns out, because this will be my first attempt. I've already burnt a screen for some of the words, and Tuesday I'll probably do the rest.

I'm trying hard not to get too caught up in all this wedding stuff. Which, I'm sure Caleb will tell you, I'm having a hard time with. There are just so many aspects of it, and we really want everything to reflect us as a couple and to be more than just the cookie-cutter wedding stuff. There are also WAY too many internet sites about absolutely everything wedding-related, which doesn't help. I think as long as I keep myself aware of how much time I'm spending on this, I can pull myself away and focus on other things.

School, for instance. This will be my first full week of classes (we started last wednesday). I have Typography, Yoga, Illustration, and Art History II. I'm really enjoying all of them so far (not like I've had any real homework), although my Art History II teacher makes me nervous. Anybody else seen the psychologist on the WB's old show, "Felicity"? I swear it's her crankier, bi-polar twin. Creepy.

I'm going to bed, but I'll leave you with a list of things I'm loving right now: The new iPhone; fulllock.net; raspberry sorbet; new yoga pants; mail; and leggings (sad but fashionably true).
